Type: Olivine-Hypersthene Chondrite, L5
It was first recognized as a meteorite in February 1936. The 0.75 Lb weathered fragment
was found on a farm 5.75 miles WSW of Marlow. Years later a 150 Lb meteorite was
recovered by ranchers while making a stock pond. It had been used as a weight on
a farmer's plow and was later stored in a root cellar next to the family's canned
fruits and vegetables. The physical appearance of this meteorite is of a dark green
to black stone matrix with numerous chondrules disseminated throughout.
