Name: Bediasite
Location: Grimes County, Texas

These rare tektites were first identified from Grimes County in 1936. They have since been 

found in 8 other counties in south eastern Texas. These, along with the related Georgia tektites, 

formed in an impact about 35 million years ago and are the oldest of the known tektites.
